Revision:
To promote learning during the course of a unit of study, students may revise any classwork grade or quiz grade by completing a revision. The Revision Guide is the best resource to get students started. Revision must happen independently in order for students to recover full credit on an assignment for demonstrating 100% of the requirements of the standard. I am available for reteaching, similar examples, and questions to help students prepare to revise their original work. Students may see me at W.I.N. or on Thursday afternoons until 3:30. Please let me know by Wednesday if your student would like to stay after school. All revised work must be submitted by the time of the unit assessment.
Retake:
After we have completed a unit of study, students will be assessed on their learning. Students who earn less than 75% who would like to improve may see me to create a relearning plan which must be signed by both the student and parent/guardian. The assignments in the plan must be completed satisfactorily before a retake may take place, as evidence that the student's knowledge has improved. If a student's score improves on the retake, the two assessment scores will be averaged together. If a student's score does not improve, the original score will stand.
